On this first post of this subject I will be posting NPC cards that I have made that can be used by anyone. All that is needed to do is filling the forms on the file and printing it. Ideally you will want to print 4 of these cards in a sheet of paper (you need to adjust the print dialog for that).
The cards have space for the NPC name, it's age, sex, race and occupation (like if he is a smither, an entertainer, a bartender). Following there are fields for you to describe the NPC's appearance, personality (you can even assign him a common quote).
There are also fields to tell a little about the NPC background, location and possible services he can provide to the adventurers. In this part you can put all that the players can know without much effort, such as where he is usually found, what he does, who he hangs out with.
The last space in the NPC card is reserved for possible situations in what the NPC is involved or know something about. Those are the situations he readily talks about or is easily heard about him. He could be looking for a group of mercenaries to help him look for a tomb he believes hold an important item he is looking for. Or maybe he knows about a couple of caravans that have gone missing when they passed by an ruined village.
Anyway, it's just a handout to help the players remember and stay interested in the adventure. I hope it is useful. I use a slightly different one with pictures, just because I design them myself, it's easier. You can glue a NPC portrait on the back of those here, or draw there.
