Reviewing the design I made for the pterran race for D&D 4e, I realised that there was space for quite a few feats that would make the race more interesting to play and would give some story elements for a character.
In addition I decided to create a paragon path for pterran characters. This paragon path would reflect the premise that the pterrans prophets are seeing that the race will play an important role on the events that are about to occur in the Tyr Region. Even if you don’t have a pterran character in your group this could be an nice adventure seed where the heroes have to help a pterran adventurer to fulfill his destiny.

Pterran Racial FeatsImproved Gift of The Earth Mother
Prerequesit: Pterran, Gift of the Earth Mother power
Benefit: You regain additional hit points equal your Constitution modifier, Wisdom modifier or Charisma modifier when you use your Gift of the Earth Mother power.
Sharing the Gift
Prerequesit: Pterran, Gift of the Earth Mother power
Benefit: You can use your Gift of the Earth Mother power on your allies. The power gains a target entry (Target: You or an ally hit by an attack) and changes the trigger entry to “Trigger: You or an ally within 5 squares of you is hit by an attack).
Path of the Warrior
Prerequesit: Pterran
Benefit: The first time you become bloodied during an encounter you can make a melee basic attack as an immediate reaction triggered by the attack that hit you. In addition you mark the target of the melee basic attack until the end of your next turn.
Path of the Druid
Prerequesit: Pterran
Benefit: You increase your racial bonus to nature skill to +4 and can reroll any nature check but you must keep the second result. In addition, once per day you can use rituals that use nature skill spending only half its components cost.
Path of the Psionicist
Prerequesit: Pterran
Benefit: You gain telepathy to speak with anyone who shares a language with you within 5 squares. In addition you gan +2 feat bonus to perception skill.
Strong Claws
Prerequesit: Pterran
Benefit: Your hands have stronger claws than average pterrans. You gain proficient with claw attacks (+3 proficient bonus). Your claws are considered light blades and deal 1d6 damage.

Prerequesit: Pterran
All pterrans revere the Earth Mother and receives gifts from her, but you was chosen by her. You have a stronger connection with the spirits of Athas than almost every other pterran. You hear whispers of the spirits and receive their protection everywhere you go.
The prophets of your tribe saw that a great destiny that awaits you and so far, you have achieved all the glory they said you would. But greater challenges lies ahead and you are prepared to face them, reinforced by the strength of the Earth Mother.
Chosen of the Earth Mother are heroes that defend the living things of Athas, the spirits of the Earth Mother and the people that they love. And to do this you received greater gifts from the spirits. You are more resilient with the strength you get from the primal forces, you can share the protection of the spirits with your friends and, once you achieve a deeper connection with the Earth Mother, you can see through the earth and make it alive.
Chosen of the Earth Mother Path Features
Earth Mother Protection (11th level): When you use your Gift of the Earth Mother power, you gain resist 5 + your wisdom, constution or charisma modifiers to all damage types until the end of your next turn.
Earth Mother’s Embrace (11th level): When you spend an acting point to take an extra action, you and all allies withing 5 squares of you can make a saving throw.
Earth Mother’s Cleansing (16th level): When you use your second wind, you can make a saving throw against each effect on you that a save can end.
